💬 SocialFlow Tab

The SocialFlow tab (app.bigshort.com/socialflow) overlays crowd sentiment against price, pulling together two very different reads on what the market is thinking: retail social chatter and the Polymarket prediction market. Plotting both alongside the price line lets you see when the crowd is confirming a move — or diverging from it.

Availability

In the left navigation, the SocialFlow entry is currently marked "temporarily unavailable" and isn't clickable. The tab itself still loads directly at app.bigshort.com/socialflow, where it charts live sentiment data — so while it's in this state, reach it by typing the URL rather than clicking the sidebar.

What SocialFlow Shows

The chart is headed "[Symbol] — Social Flow" (for example, SPY — Social Flow) and plots these series against price over a rolling multi-day window at intraday resolution:

  • Price — the symbol's price, for reference.
  • Social Sentiment — a net bullish/bearish score derived from retail social chatter.
  • Social Tally — the volume of social messages behind that sentiment reading.
  • Polymarket Sentiment — a net bullish/bearish score derived from the Polymarket prediction market.
  • Polymarket Tally — the volume of Polymarket activity behind it.

In each pairing, Sentiment tells you which way the crowd is leaning and Tally tells you how much conviction (message or position volume) is behind that lean — a strong sentiment reading on a thin tally is far less meaningful than one backed by heavy participation.

The Three Views

Toggle between three views at the top of the tab:

  • Price — the combined view, with price and both sentiment sources together.
  • Social — focus on the retail social sentiment and tally.
  • Polymarket — focus on the prediction-market sentiment and tally.

How to Use the SocialFlow Tab

  1. Look for confirmation: when social and Polymarket sentiment both lean the same way as price, the move has broad backing.
  2. Watch for divergence: sentiment rolling over while price keeps climbing (or vice versa) can be an early warning that the crowd's conviction is fading.
  3. Check the tally: always read sentiment together with its tally — heavy participation makes a sentiment shift much harder to ignore.

Treat SocialFlow as a context layer that sits alongside BigShort's order-flow indicators, not a standalone signal — the tape still leads, and sentiment helps you gauge how the crowd is positioned around it.
