⇄ OptionFlow Tab
Introduction
OptionFlow allows users to explore large and/or unusual option activity for any ticker.
Where to find it: Open the OptionFlow tab in the top navigation, or go directly to app.bigshort.com/optionsflow.html.

💡Tip: A condensed version of this OptionFlow data is also available on the Chart, in the Options tab of the right-hand side panel (alongside GEX, CEX, Fund, Chat, and Settings).
Looking Around
As with other sections of the software, you can select any ticker and date in the upper left part of the page.
The table will then show you all large and unusual option activity for that ticker. Each row includes the Time, Ticker, Expiry, Strike, C/P (call or put), Spot, Details (the size @ fill price), Type (the execution type, such as a sweep), and Premium ($ notional). Every trade is also tagged bullish, bearish, or no sentiment in the Sentiment column. Above the table, four summary readouts give you the aggregate picture at a glance:
- Flow Sentiment — the overall bullish/bearish bias across every trade in view.
- Put/Call — the ratio of put to call activity.
- Put Flow / Call Flow — the dollar volume on each side.
For users who want to dig a little deeper, there are filtering options in the upper right hand corner of the page — for example, to show only flows that expire within a month of today's date.
A sweep vs. a block: a sweep is a large order split across multiple exchanges to fill quickly — it signals urgency and tends to be directional. A block is a single large negotiated trade.
How to Use It
- Filter by ticker to focus on a specific stock, or watch the full market flow.
- Read direction and premium together. Large call sweeps or heavy put selling skew bullish; large put sweeps or heavy call selling skew bearish. Higher premium means more conviction — a $1M+ sweep carries more weight than a $10K trade.
- Use it for confirmation. If a setup is forming elsewhere (e.g. a support level holding), a same-direction sweep here is a green light.
- Use it for discovery. Unusual flow in a ticker you weren't already watching often precedes a catalyst.
- Watch for reversals. Bullish flow flipping to large put sweeps while you're in a long is a sign of institutional money rotating out.
- Cross-reference with Net Option Flow — this tab shows individual trades, NOF aggregates them into a directional read. When OptionFlow, NOF, and dark pool prints all agree, that's a high-conviction setup.
