🕛 Squeeze Meter Tab

The Squeeze Meter tab (app.bigshort.com/squeeze-meter, nav Squeeze Meter) grades the market's squeeze conditions on a single, easy-to-read scale built around BigShort's Honey Badger Day (HBD) concept. Instead of reading a dozen indicators to judge whether the tape is set up for a relentless one-directional grind, you get one daily rating.

The HBD Strength Scale

The Squeeze Meter places the current conditions on a scale that runs from inverse (short-friendly) through neutral and up through progressively stronger Honey Badger Day readings:

  • Inverse HBD
  • Neutral
  • 1 — Badgerish
  • 2 — Weak HBD
  • 3 — HBD
  • 4 — Strong HBD
  • 5 — Godly HBD

The higher the reading, the more the conditions favor a Honey Badger Day — a session where the market "doesn't care" and grinds relentlessly in one direction, shrugging off pullbacks. An Inverse HBD reading points the other way. The gauge shows a "Last updated" timestamp and refreshes on a daily basis, so it's designed to set your bias for the session rather than to time intraday entries.

The Squeeze Meter is an Elite-tier feature.

What Is a Honey Badger Day?

A Honey Badger Day is a session with such strong, one-sided conditions that price simply keeps going — like the honey badger, it "doesn't care" about the usual pullbacks. The full playbook, including how to trade one, lives in the strategy guide:

The Squeeze Meter is the quick, at-a-glance version of that setup: it tells you whether today looks like an HBD without your having to assemble the read manually.

How to Use the Squeeze Meter

  1. Set your bias: check the meter before the session. A 3 — HBD or higher suggests conditions favor a persistent, trend-following approach; an Inverse HBD suggests the opposite.
  2. Match your tactics to the reading: on a strong HBD reading, fading strength is fighting the current; on a neutral or inverse reading, mean-reversion tactics are more appropriate.
  3. Confirm on the chart: use the meter as your daily frame, then let BigShort's real-time flow indicators confirm entries and exits.
